Well this is a first! I have managed to pair a watch and calculator for today’s post. Something a bit different tonight, my first opportunity tonight to crack open the inaugural release from @aberargie distillery just outside Perth. What a cracking dram. All the barley used for distilling this single malt whisky is sourced from their own farm and the spirit is matured in a mixture of 1st fill American oak barrels and Sherry casks and bottled at 48.2% vol. Here are my tasting notes :- Great balance with sweet vanilla and apricot notes intermingled with touch of homemade plum jam and rhubarb and ginger crumble….. fantastic! ….. and yes, it was a messy pour! 😂😂😂 😁🥃🥃🏆 #masterblender #aberargiedistillery #singlemalt #whisky #scotch

Was up in Keith for the Speyside Whisky Festival at the weekend and was up early on Saturday, so popped into the local charity shops for a nosey. Couldn’t believe it when I picked up these two vintage watches for £2 each!! Back home after an epic week, it kicked off in Miami helping launch the new Chivas Regal 16 years old Charles Leclerc limited edition with the man himself @charles_leclerc . This is the first ever 16 years old blended whisky from Chivas Regal and a true collaboration. This blend is formulated using 16 different whiskies with a special influence coming from Longmorn single malt whisky, fully matured in 1st fill oloroso sherry casks, this was Charles’s stand out favourite whisky from the samples I shared with him when we met up in Monaco. Here are the tasting notes for this fabulous new whisky:- On the nose, sweet mandarin, raisins and manuka honey give way to warm cinnamon and sticky toffee. Been a busy day gardening, trying to tame the jungle!! So treating myself to a glass of Chivas Regal Crystalgold with a couple of cubes of ice. Decided on a recent purchase from Japan for the watch and scotch combo. Here we have the Casio G-Shock Joshua Vides collaboration which is off the scale cool! The tasting notes for Crystalgold are as follows:- Notes of vanilla, sweet apple pie, and creamy butterscotch fudge on the nose.
